Pais Nublado
Time for something a little different than usual. Following up on the lead single from Helado Negro’s forthcoming album ‘This Is How You Smile’ released November last year, Helado is back with the second single off of the upcoming LP which we are happy to report that it is just as impressive as the first. Helado takes us on a bilingual, folk-inspired, dream-like journey through the cloudy and mysterious world that we live in today. “Pais Nublado” translates to “Cloudy Country” - Helado describes this tune in a recent interview with Stereogum as an “…escape into curiosity. It explores ideas of cloudy places, in particular our cloudy country, and uncertain futures.” The soft acoustic guitars accompanied by reverberated, droning synth melodies give the song that bittersweet, melancholic yet hopeful touch of sonic wonder that Helado Negro is such a master at creating. Grab the closest writing utensil in your vicinity (aka open your calendar app) and mark your calendars - ’This Is How You Smile’ will be out March 8th, 2019 on RVNG records.
