I'm Still Here / Need It
Bronze Whale are easing into a new chapter, and instead of making a big announcement, they’re letting the music speak in fragments. The duo, made up of Aaron Jaques and Benny Alley, first began in the winter of 2011, cutting their teeth on high profile remixes that quickly put them on the map as fresh voices in electronic music.
“I’m Still Here” and “Need It” arrived just two weeks apart, and together they feel less like standalone singles and more like the early pieces of something that could easily turn into a full EP down the line.
“I’m Still Here” is all about restraint. Warm synths, a steady pulse, and layered vocals slowly evolve without ever breaking into a big drop. The repeated line “I’m falling again, but I’m still here” becomes the anchor, looping like a quiet reminder. It’s reflective, patient, and built for late-night listening.
“Need It” pulls things in closer. Slower and more minimal, it sits in a UK garage leaning pocket with soft, warped vocals and a warm low-end. Where the first track is about holding on, this one feels like a realization, a love song rooted in curiosity, asking questions instead of making declarations.
Both tracks share a clear mood and sonic identity, hinting at a bigger picture.
If this really is the start of a series, it already feels cohesive enough to grow into something like an EP, understated, emotional, and intentionally paced. Both singles are out now via Magic Magic. Enjoy!
