Bass Drop
There are tracks that need a lot of bells and whistles to get a crowd moving, and then there are tracks that simply know what to do with a bass line.
AAT’s “Bass Drop” falls firmly into the latter category.
Built around a simple but seriously effective groove, the track gets straight to the heart of what house music is all about: groove, vibe and fun. There’s no need to overcomplicate things here. The bass does the talking, locking into a rhythm that pulls you in and keeps you moving. It’s the kind of groove that feels instantly familiar, but still has enough character to make you want to hear it again.
And that makes perfect sense coming from AAT. The Hague-based DJ has been making serious moves through the Dutch house scene since winning the Toffler Talents competition in January 2023. From sharing lineups with Enzo Siragusa, Manda Moor, Sidney Charles, Nick Curly and Luuk van Dijk to taking her sound overseas with stops in Bali, Tokyo, Shanghai and Seoul, her rise has been anything but slow.
Her sound is all about keeping things moving, and “Bass Drop” is a pretty perfect snapshot of that philosophy. It’s groovy, energetic and uncomplicated in the best possible way. The bass line gives the track its backbone, while the overall feel leaves plenty of room for the dancefloor to do its thing.
