Drain My Bank Account
MYWLT all-time favourite Lyrah has now dropped her long-awaited debut EP, together with title track "Drain My Bank Account" and it was absolutely worth the wait. The final single in the 6-track package, is one of the more melancholic ones, with a very dynamic arrangement and lots of different textures. If you're a fan of Billie Eilish, you might pick up a few stylistic references here and there, but this alone doesn't describe how grande this track is. Lyrah is her own and that theme goes through the entire EP. Considering that this is "just" an EP, as a listener you are spoiled with a wide range of stylistic variation, also including more dance friendly tracks like Head Above feat. Reo Cragun and Sorry CVS, yet it still all sounds incredibly coherent and complete at the same time. To me, Lyrah remains one of the most exiting new artists in the indie electronica space.
