Thinking About You

I basically grew up to the tunes of the band Hard-Fi, so when I heard this new single by Axwell x Ingrosso, I was like "wait a minute, I know this vocal". Coincidentally, it's also a track that fits Richard Archer very well, as the verses feel very Hard-Fi'esque. It's not until the drop kicks in that the track becomes more clubby. Unfortunately though the track also carries some influence from a certain...cough, cough...Jack Ü track, which feel unnecessary considering that every other element of this track is absolutely brilliant. Check it out via Spotify below:

Update: Now with official video:

Up next is a remix by Styline for SNBRN x Shaun Frank x Dr. Fresch's "The New Order". With what he calls power house, the german producer has made made this one even more clubby than in already was. The bass on this remix is absolutely phenomenal, giving this remix a contagious groove and an energetic feel. Going Nowhere

Over the last few weeks a lot of great sounding summer friendly tracks have hit the interwebs and The Brocks are now ready with their bid called "Going Nowhere". It's a fantastic indie electronica track, with a fine rhythm and catchy groove and I particularly like that distinct piano intro and the lead vocalists characteristic voice. Their style is described as being influenced by the likes of M83, Empire of the Sun, Phoenix and Miike Snow and I think that's quite accurate for "Going Nowhere". The track was produced by the legends Finn Bjarnson (Late Night Alumni), Nate Pyfer and Ryan Raddon (Kaskade), who are long time running buddies when it comes to producing music for either LNA or Kaskade. "Going Nowhere" is out now on Kaskade's inhouse label called Arkade and you can pick your copy up right now via Itunes. Enjoy :D

Up next is a remix by Sydney based producer Joe Mason for The Chainsmokers' "Inside Out". It's a beautiful and lush sounding remix, with a seriously calming melody. Together with the sweet vocal by Charlee, this remix sounds like an ideal track for the pool party. The fact that it's still somewhat upbeat, makes it a versatile track too. It's the best remix I have heard for "Inside Out" so far, so that alone should make you start looking for that free download butto, which, as always can be found below.

Kiss Me

Tokyo based DJ Vivid has gotten his hands on Olly Murs' track "Kiss Me" and turned it into a proper club piece. High energy and a very playful and catchy melodic vibe characterises this version of "Kiss Me". If you're familiar with the original mix, you will recognise that it's very very different, but it all works like a charm. I particularly like the background funk guitar, which gives the entire thing a really nice groove. Check it out for yourself and make sure to pick up a free download via the link below.

Up next is Dallas based producer Carlyle with a remix for Rihanna's "Sex With Me". What happens when you combine dirty lyrics, with a dirty instrumental...? Absolute electronic bass filth is what's up! This might be the most aggressive remix I have ever shared on this blog, but it's so awesome, I couldn't help myself. Sometimes

Get out of the sun or you will get sunburned, is a good piece of advice, but today you'll get SNBRN'ed whether you want to or not! The LA based producer is back with a new single called "Sometimes", featuring Holly Winter. The instrumental has a nice and light vibe to it and the vocal fits perfectly on top of that. "Sometimes" is a proper summer anthem, just waiting to be played at your next beach party. Give it a listen and grab a copy via Itunes (see link below).

Moving over to another spectrum of electronic music, here's Area 21 with the track "Girls". You might not have heard much about Area 21 yet, but it's actually partly Martin Garrix's secret side project. It's a nice surprise coming from the well established heavyweight, who's busy enough with touring and producing big house anthem's under his own name. This track has a refreshing underground vibe to it and I really like that. You got to hand it to Martin Garrix for trying to go in another direction and be as diverse as possible. Here's hoping he'll be making some more interesting releases like this in the future. You can pick up "Girls" as a free download via the link below.

Speaking of Martin Garrix, he has just released a single under his own name as well called "Lions In The Wild" with Third Party. He has already played this in numerous sets and it was only a matter of time until it officially dropped. If you have been at a Garrix show, seen a live stream or recording of his sets on Youtube, this is one of those tracks that will make the tentpoles collapse.

Good Enough

It's always a treat when Michael Brun releases a new single. This time he has teamed up with The Ready Set for the track "Good Enough". The result is a is a clubby pop track, with a catchy melody and cool vocal. The piano chords add some nice energy, but don't overpower, which is nice. If you're still on the lookout for the perfect summer track, this is a serious candidate. Check it out here and get your Spotify stream via the link below:

Up next is a track by LA based band True Violet called "Seasons". Their track was remixed by Tony Livadas and the result is really awesome. The instrumental is now much more electronic and club oriented, but there are still some on point hints of alternative pop/rock, which matches with the identity of True Violet. I like this remix a lot and so I hope you will like it too. Make sure to give it a spin below:

Watch Me Dance

Ever since his EP release for Soulection, Tom Misch and his music has been laser engraved into my brain. With two full albums, numerous singles and EPs under his belt, the young artist and label boss is further challenging himself and pushing forward with his first live recorded EP called Reverie. The EP will contain 4 tracks and won't see the light of day until July 15th, but the first single called "Watch Me Dance" is out now. On this particular track the transition to live instruments is mindbuggeling smooth. Just as with any Tom Misch track, the groove is sweet and lush as can be and you still get that unmistakably signature guitar and beat sound that you will be used to by now as Tom Misch fan...oh...and he sings on this one too :D Give the track a good listen below and check out the pre-order links below.

Sydney based producer Sondrio is back with a freshly crafted remix for VOKES' track "Value". His remix mixes organic sounds with electronic elements in a way that makes this particular remix stand out with its excellent calming indie electronica vibe. While the remix is still clubby, it's very refined and subtle, due to the nicely filtered piano chords and the dope percussion. Check it out and grab a free download via the link below:

Waiting For You

Famous from being part of Miami Horror, Aaron Shanahan has debut his first single under the new new name Sunday. One of his first singles to come out is this one called "Waiting For You". It's a lush and chillout sounding indie electronica piece with an amazing on point atmospheric vibe. The vocal matches the feeling I get from the instrumental, so everything matches really well together. Kick back and take a moment to close your eyes and relax to this tune. While you're at it, check out his other single too via Soundcloud called "That's Believing". Both tracks are available as a free download (see links below).

Recently Pierce Fulton dropped the track "False Proof", which was very different from what he has been releasing so far. Now he returns with another new single called "Losing You". No this is not another alternative rock jam, it's a party monster of a track. Relying on horns for his main melodic theme,"Losing You" has a refreshing feeling and has a lot of good energy. According to Pierce, he's been revising the track 5-10 times over the course of 3 years, but finally got it right and decided to release it. Sticking with the piano house vibes for today, here's a new single by Aussie producer Generik called "Late At Night". I can't wait!

On the 27th of May and 3rd of June, he'll be sharing the stage with heavyweight Calvin Harris in Las Vegas at Omnia. So if you have the chance, check him out live :)

Somewhere

If you're a regular visitor of the blog, you will know that I am a big fan of German producers and DJs Fabich and Ferdinand Weber. So when they join forces to create new music, it has got to be magic. Turns out it's just that! Their ability to produce these groovy house tunes keeps amazing me and they deliver every time. Fakin It

Kaskade and Felix Cartal have joined forces for a new single called "Fakin It" feat. Ofelia K. The track uses some of the classic Kaskade elements like a female vocal and guitar melody, which makes the track very organic sounding, yet still with a subtle club vibe. This is also something Felix Cartal has done a few times, so the combination feels very on point. Check it out below and stream via Spotify.

Kaskade also recently collaborated with Lipless for this remix of RY X's "Only". The remix has a very calming vibe. What I like a lot about this remix is that it's such an easy going electronica track that you can easily introduce this to some of your friends who do not like electronic music. Finally, I want to wrap up today's post with a remix by Justin Caruso for 3LAU's track "Is It Love". Caruso has gone electro/acoustic for this one and the result has turned out remarkably well. Compared to the original, this remix also sounds ever so slightly more upbeat, but it's not exaggerated or over the top at any point. It just works. Don't Leave Without Me

The Him are back with a brand spanking new release called "Don't Leave Without Me" feat. Gia Koka. With this release they are taking things a bit more downtempo, creating a mellow dance track, with some tribal/tropical influences that work really well. Gia Koka's vocal is absolute bliss and perfect for a track of this caliber. The Him have created a track that captures their signature sound, but also develops upon it. So if you're a fan you'll love it, but if you're new to The Him, it's also a great introduction. With the summer season fast approaching, this is a perfect track to dust of your sunglasses and blast this off down at the beach.

Stream "Don't Leave Without Me" by The Him feat. Gia Koka on SPOTIFY

Apart from this excellent original, the duo also had the opportunity to remix the track "Jackpot" for Jocelyn Alice. With a catchy piano house roll, a great beat and good energy, Jocelyn's track has just been one-upped for the club. The upbeat vibe feels right at home considering the theme of "Jackpot" and Jocelyn's vocal sounds excellent in this new setting.

To me The Him has been a great discovery and their music has constantly developed with every release. I got the chance to interview the duo and ask them a few questions about themselves, their source of inspiration, dream collaboration and their hometown Amsterdam.

- What’s the story behind your name “The Him”?
It was really hard for us to come up with a name for our project! We tried to make a list of things that we liked the sound of and added some old song titles to this list cause we both love music from back in the day.... 'The Him' from an old New Order album was one of them and when we saw that we knew that had to be it!

- How do you get inspired to create new music?
Because we listen to a lot of music we get inspiration from other artist. Music from now transposed to The Him sound ! Also a really important thing for us is the right vocal. It’s really hard to find one because out of the 100 songs we get maybe one is the right one.

- If you could pick any artist in the world, with whom would you like to do a collaboration?
Jeroen: Jess Glynne
Steven: Ellie Goulding

- When in your hometown Amsterdam, what should no one ever miss out on?
Well we invite you “Daniel” to come and eat chicken with us ! You have a nice spot called the Bier Fabriek (beer factory). We meet here once a month with a lot of artist and drink beer and eat chicken! And in case you're not that much in to beer and chicken you should definitely jump on one of those boats that take you through the canals. The city is really beautiful from the water.

- What’s next for The Him?
We'll be playing some really big festivals here in Holland. And like always working on new music to show the world. This year we will release a lot of music so keep MYWLT ready !

Staying in NYC, Brasstracks has released a new single called "Good Love" feat. Jay Prince. It's a groovy portion of brass house and good vibes. Wild Things

Canadian wonder duo Young Bombs are back with a refreshing remix for Alessia Cara x G-Eazy's "Wild Things" and it's excellent. The tribal style beat works really well for this track and their vocal chopping work is pretty dope too. G-Eazy's feature is like adding ketchup to fries...you can do without, but to be honest it just tastes better with ketchup. Last time I checked this remix already charted on Hype Machine, so you might have heard it already. If not...now's your chance. Enjoy :)

Up next is track I would usually not post to the blog, if it wasn't for the fact that it's totally awesome! Pierce Fulton...coming to you live from his sick bed, having broken multiple rips and a lung, just released an alternative rock track (yes, that's right). Pierce Fulton is (as it seems) taking a break from producing big dance tracks. Instead his upcoming 5 track EP will include more from this genre, proving his musical genius and flair for producing different genres. Notice that awesome vocal? That's Pierce's own voice. Feel Good

Disco Despair have release a remix package for their track "Are You Girl" and one of the remixers is LA based Birdee, keeping it funky fresh with his version of the track. I really like the lighter and fresh sounding instrumental he has created. There are hints of French electro styles, as well as more distinct nu-disco sound than I think the original version had. Snowboy

Today I'll start out with an amazing piece of chillout electronica, ideal for recharging your batteries after a stressful week. Here's Emmecosta with the track "Snowboy" in the Post Pines Remix. If you haven't heard the original mix, I highly encourage you to check that one out as well (see video below). As for this remix though, it's the most beautiful piece of deep house I've heard in a very long time. In fact I'd like to stick out my neck and say it's one of the best remixes I've heard all year. 1993

After his collab with German producer Fabich, JackLNDN returns with two amazing remixes. The first one is for Paces' track "1993 (No Chill)" feat. Jess Kent. With a light deep house vibe and a cool organ style synth sound, the vocal gets plenty of room to shine. Also the bass line in combination with the beat and percussion is sweet as apple pie. Midnight Swim

A wild remix appeared...it used bass...it was super effective! Producer Sean Turk has made this amazing remix for Vanessa Elisha's "Midnight Swim" and absolute on point. The melody is catchy and the new instrumental works wonders together with the original vocal. Up next is a track by NYC based duo Xuitcasecity. They just released their debut single called "Bout You" and it's really awesome. It has also been a while since I have been posting some hip hop music, but this is absolutely solid. The rhymes are tight and the beatstrumental is approapriately oldschool sounding, but with a modern twist. The combination is a winner and should even put a smile on the face of the most fanatic house music connoisseur.

When Tomorrow Comes

Today's first track is called "When Tomorrow Comes" and no...it's not by Eurythmics, it's a new single by US based producer Paige. The track is fuelled by a sweet deep sounding bass melody on the drop, whereas the verses have a sweet and much lighter sound that provides great contrast to the remaining parts. The vocal does a great part on that account too and gives the track a nice atmospheric vibe at times. Paige's new single is out now and available via Beatport (check out the link below).

One of my all time favourite Elephante tracks has received a super sweet remix by LA based producer Virtu. IV

Today's first two tracks come from producer Roman Boeer de Garcez. If that name doesn't ring a bell, he's better known as Tocadisco ;-)

He has just released a new album called "IV", which features 12 really dope house and electronica tracks. It is a very diverse album in the sense that Tocadisco has tried to incorporate elements from a lot of different music genres. And even though the album is so diverse, there's still a continous theme throughout the entire album. Below I have picked two tracks from the album, to illustrate that it really has something for everyone. The first track is called "Circularity" and it has a very dramatic cinematic sound to it, whereas the second track called "Collywobbles" is a pure bred deep house track.

The album "IV" is out now via Toca45 Recordings and you can grab your own copy via Beatport. Enjoy :)

Up next is a new single by Fabrikate called "Want You To Know". This track has a really lush melodic deep house sound to it, perhaps even with a little pop influence as well. I really like the easy going vibe, because it makes it perfect for a pre-summer track. This particular track is available now and is part of an upcoming album called "Bodies" out May 13th. Enjoy :)

FML

Today's first track comes from K.Flay and is called "FML". You might already know this track, but I am pretty sure a lot of you haven't heard this version by SMLE yet. The groove on this remix is so on point with K.Flay's vocal, it's insane. The catchy step-something style melody is bound to make you nod back and forth in appreciation. Perhaps this is due to the underlining hip hop influence on the beat. Honestly, I can't really put my finger on what it is, but it just sounds super cool. You can even pick up a free download via the link below:

Up next is a new single by Vancouver based Pat Lok called "You Street". This track has serious rhythm and a perfect blend between disco and house music. I always love a good instrumental and this one might take the prize for being the best I've heard all year (so far). I love the positive upbeat vibe this track, making this perfect for summer time.

Last, but not least, Two Friends return with a brand new remix for Audien's "Something Better" feat. Lady Antebellum. For this one the duo has made use of lots of live instruments, to give this remix that extra special treatment. The result is incredible and they manage to incorporate their own signature sound, with the classy vibe of the original track. With this, my Wednesday just got a whole lot better, what about yours?

Safe Till Tomorrow

LA based duo Bee's Knees have crafted an amazing remix for Morgan Page's "Safe Till Tomorrow", turning it into the most delicious funky disco jam you can possibly imagine. Their amazing instrumental, combined with Angelika Vee's vocal is pure bliss and it's remixes like this that I can listen to over and over again. It's perfect for easy listening, dancing, clubbing, you name it. With the summer season fast approaching, this will help you get into the right mood. You can even pick up a free download of this remix via the link below. Enjoy :)

Back in the beginning of April the official remix package for Steve James' track "Renaissance" dropped. The package included some awesome remixes, but it appears that they forgot to add one ;-) A brand new remix by Canadian producer Jake Brodoway just saw the light of day and it's simply grandios and in my opinion one of the best Jake Brodoway has made to date. Also, this remix fits really well with the new sound profile Steve James introduced with the release of "Renaissance". So I think it's pretty cool how Jake has managed to maintain the essence of a Steve James production, but still adding his own style to the track as well.

Tainted by Love

You might remember Jetique & Kelvin Monroe's cool track "Hold On" which was featured here on the blog a while ago. Now their track have received a vocal overhaul featuring Joshua Khane and it's super awesome. Now you got both the great instrumental and this at your disposal to set fire to your party. Also, with the addition of vocal comes also a title change, so "Hold On" is now "Tainted by Love" and it's out now via Armada Deep. Enjoy :)

Up next are The Knocks with a remix of their own track "Classic" feat. POWERS. While they've maintained that feel good vibe and the cool funky guitar bits, the track has become more clubby and received a catchy vocal chopping hook. You can find the original version on their latest album titled "55" and stream this dope remix via their Soundcloud or simply right here below. Enjoy :)

Omega

Michael Brun and Aspyer have teamed up for today's first track, which is called "Omega (Love From Me)". Sound wise this track marks somewhat new territory for the Haitian producer, which is quite refreshing. This might also have something to do with Aspyer's involvement, whom I am not so familiar with (yet). Either way, it's a cracking track with a nice trap like style and sweet wobbly bass. You can pick up "Omega (Love From Me)" as a free download or stream via numerous options (check the link below).

Up next is a remix by Vasta of The 1975's "The Sound". Vasta has added a serious bass and beat making this ideal for the club, but without messing too much with the original vibe of the track. This combination, together with that epic synth sound used to recreate the piano melody from the original version, makes this a track something to be super excited about.
