Beautiful Now

L.A. based producer Grey has gone Egyptian trap style on Zedd's track "Beautiful Now" feat. Jon Bellion. As you'll hear, Jon Bellion's vocal has been going through the vocoder and sounds very robotic in the verses and it might even be over done a bit, but as soon as that coin drops around 1:00 minute, the track goes off like a pharaoh on acid. It works surprisingly well and really stirs up Zedd's sound profile and style. Hit play and pick up a free download via the link below:

Spinning Back

First of all thanks to everyone following the blog. Yesterday the follower counter over on Hype Machine reached 1000. Thanks for sticking around :)

--------------------------------------

Today's first post is called "Storm" by Justin Jay feat. Chris Lorenzo. Unlike Justin's last track called "Mind Games", which was oldschool funky, this new track is much more dark and mysterious...like a "Storm" I guess, which would make the title very fitting. The track starts out with some marching band style drums, along with a very deep sub bass. The track develops and around 3 minutes you get this oldschool house synth kicking in, alongside some atmospheric pads that really open everything up, like there's a break in the storm. It's a great track and a great theme! Make sure to pick up a free copy of the track via the link below:

Up next is a track called "Spinning Back" by Australian producer Atlas feat. James Chatburn on vocals. The combo is flawless and while it starts out as an pop ballade song, it develops into the most amazing electronica track, with a catchy melody and clubby vibe. This unusual balance between these two genres works like a charm and it's refreshing to come across and listen to. "Spinning Back" is available as a free download. Get a copy via the link below:

Lonely Up Here

Ferdinand Weber has teamed up with L.A. based producer/singer Shoffy and created this excellent chill vibed track called  "Lonely Up Here". The track starts out with a crisp sounding acoustic guitar melody and then slowly picks up on the clubby vibe with some soft synth chords. The track later develops to become more atmospheric around the second chorus, with some lush pads that get introduced to the mix. Ferdinand Weber and Shoffy are giving this one away for free, so make sure to pick up your own personal copy via the link below:

All I See

"All I See" is the title of a new single by JackLNDN which is out now on Ultra Records. It's a classy vocal deep house track with a chillout vibe. The track is pretty easy going and even with it's house/club credentials, it's good for easy listening and not too complex or unnecessarily loud. It's just a really good and solid production that makes me as a listener happy :) Have a listen below and pick up a copy via Itunes.

Up next is a track called "Luscious" by St. Louis based producer RDTR. This is the first track from the newly released four-track EP called "L.O.V.E". "Luscious" has an intriguing melodic electro, trap, hip hop combo vibe. This theme is persistent on the other tracks of the EP as well, which you can pick up for free via Bandcamp (link below). Enjoy :)

Disarm You

Things have been moving swiftly for Kaskade after his shift to Warner. After releasing "Never Sleep Alone" and his Jack Ü remix, he is now back with a single release called "Disarm You" feat. Ilsey. Kaskade's ability to pick female vocalists for his tracks is pretty unique and with his characteristic balance between progressive house energy and vocal sensitivity, he again proof that this formula is 100% watertight...and it is! "Disarm You" can be picked up via Itunes, see the link below:

Up next is a track by Miami based Artec called "Feels So Good". The vocal is performed by Mike Irving, who was also featured on Artec's previous release called "You Got It". This is no doubt a melodic progressive house track. Although "Feels So Good" just go released three days ago, it was actually written and produced 2 years ago. That might explain why I get this Tommy Trash kind of vibe from this track, but it's still a great track with lots of energy and a nice catchy melody. Pick up a free copy via the link below:

Still In Love

Today's first track is a remix of Jahkoy's "Still In Love" by Vasta. Remember Vasta's awesome remix of XYLØ's "America"? If not check it out HERE. This remix is more upbeat than the original, but the pace is still pleasant enough if you're into club music. The deep melodic vibe is a great match to the theme "Still In Love" and the vocal chopping gives some great dynamics to the track as well. Check it out and pick up a free download via the link below:

Up next is a new release by Michael Brun and Roy English called "Tongue Tied July". The vibe is a mixture of pop, house and tropical house, which is a great combo for a summer track (well... and it also has the word July in the title). This also makes the track great for easy listening. The drop/chorus has a heavily reverbed chords, making it a bit more mysterious and clubby, but this makes for a great balance with the remaining track. Supposedly "Tongue Tied July" will his Itunes soon, until then you can stream it all you like below:

Somewhere To Run

Lost Kings are going full on oldschool party mode with their latest remix of Krewella's "Somewhere To Run". The track has a distinct progressive build up, but surprisingly the drop culminates into a nu-disco style vibe. Lost Kings experimented with new sounds on their previous remix of "Cold Cold Man" and this development seems to have continued on this one as well. That being said, it works surprisingly well hearing Krewella combined with some more discoey vibes. Grab a copy at your local iTunes store or stream below:

Up next is a track that went under my radar. This is Kiso feat. Ashton with the track "Wait". This is a great melodic deep house track, with some awesome chillout guitar melodies to set the vibe. The track reminds me of some earlier Kaskade tracks (probably because of the Guitar/House vibe) and mhhh...it's just a really good and solid instrumental. Grab a free download via the link below:

Futura

Jerry Folk is back with a new track called "Futura". The track is mostly instrumental, but uses some few (what sounds like) Ellie Goulding snippets along the way. There's also a nice bassline on the track, adding some funkyness and some groove, which compliments the somewhat chopped up chords well. The synth melody starting around 2:00 min is refreshingly oldschool and is really the icing on the cake. Check it out and pick up a free download via the link below:

Kosmos

Danish duo WANT (We Are Not Twins), consisting of Telma Pil and Clara Augusta, have released their debut single today called "Kosmos". The title is very fitting and describes the track well. It's an atmospheric and minimalistic electronic track and it has a vibe that is very low-key and hypnotic in a way as well, making it a track that's easy to get absorbed into. Up next is a new remix from Hansolo. This time he's taken the track "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd and turned it into a delightful summer track, more so than it already is. The deep and melodic vibe is very welcoming and fits the original track well. This remix still stays true to the original vibe, but the added summer vibe really makes this track extra cool! Cool

Two Friends Matt & Eli are back with a brand new remix of Alesso's hit "Cool" and it's literally the coolest version of this track you and I have heard yet. The style of the remix is melodic progressive house, which is also characteristic to Two Friends. The drop of this track is probably the best one yet from Two Friends and the heavy piano melody is both catchy and fits the great Roy English vocal well. The verses act as great breaks, giving a fine buildup that explodes into pure energy. Check it out by hitting play and make sure to pick up a free download via the link below!

Waterbed

The Chainsmokers have consistently released a new single for the last three months and their latest release is called "Waterbed" feat Waterbed. While they don't spend much time coming up with a song title (i.e. Roses feat. Rozes), they do really well collaborating with some extraordinary, yet not very known artists and develop their sound profile further every time. The last two singles have been delightfully melodic, chill and different and that's a really nice thing. "Waterbed" is an intriguing combo of trap, tropical house and indie elements, with a very playful vibe. Check it out below and pick up a copy at your local Itunes store.

Here With Me

Producer NiVi out of Toronto, Canada is back with a fresh new single called "Here With Me". The techno vibe is strong with this one, but if you're familiar with NiVi's sound this shouldn't be of any surprise to you. Therefore you should find that NiVi is strongly influenced by Deadmau5, Attlas and the other Mau5trap suspects. Why Mau5trap haven't picked him up yet still remains a mystery to me. Maybe this will help! Check out "Here With Me" below:

Then Came You

Pierce Fulton and Ansolo project Shirts and Skins have had its second offspring and it's called "Then You Came". As you can hear from the vocal, they've taken Diane Warwick's "Then You Came" and turned it into a modern retro party track. The vibe screams oldschool disco and that's because it's exactly what it is. Get your groove on and grab a free download below:

Up next is something from the hip hop department. The track below is called "Magic" and is the first track on Aussie Allday's 'mixtape' called "Soft Grunge Love Rap". The mixtape features a total of 7 tracks, with some tracks more melodic and some more oldschool hiphop. "Magic" belongs to the more melodic tracks on this mixtape, but it's also the one that has the biggest earworm potential IMO. GFE

Have you had your annual sunburn yet? No? Ok...then have this instead! This track is called "GFE" by Class Actress in the SNBRN remix. Personally, I am not a big fan of the lyrics in this track, but the instrumental that SNBRN has added is just pure bass heaven. The vibe is also somewhat darker than what we're used to from the U.S. based producer, but the different attitude is definitely refreshing and very welcome. No mention on a release date yet, but stream this remix all you want below:

Lost Kings have also gone is a new and fresh direction with their latest remix. Most of their productions so far have been indie style progressive house tracks, but this one is more in the funk/pop/electro corner and the result is a great and positive summer track that you can spin over and over again. Make Me Higher

Let's start this week with some chill out! This track is called "Make Me Higher" by mAsis in the Bear Mountain remix. The track has a delightful atmospheric vibe, but it is more uptempo than the original, making it more like a melodic deep house track. That however is not bad at all, as you'll hear as soon as you hit that play button. It's absolute bliss!

Summer

Today's first track is very appropriately called "Summer" by NURI. This track has a very classic house beat and the catchy melody is where the summer is at. The guitar parts make the track sound lush and open and while the track has summer written all over it, it's not directly a tropical house track in any way. The Nights

Win & Woo are back with a great chilled out remix of San Fermin's track "Emily". Because of the heavy use of guitar on this remix, the track radiates a certain summer vibe, although the chorus melody is actually a bit melancholic. Chemical Low Moan

Attlas who's been frequently mistaken for being Deadmau5, due to them both having a similar sound profile, has released a freebie going by the name of "Chemical Low Moan". The sound on this new single is still very reminiscent to Deadmau5', but that aside, it's still a very solid and proper deep techno/electro track that will make your speakers or headphones omph along nicely. Up next is Lauv with the track "The Other" in the Ghosts remix. Away From Me

Copenhagen based trio CHINAH just released their debut single called "Away From Me". The track itself soars somewhere between the realms of indie and electronica, but what makes the track so good is the vocal performed by the lead singer Fine. Therefore it also makes a lot of sense that the instrumental is relatively minimalistic, keeping the focus on the vocal which is so fulfilling. "Away From Me" is part of a 5-track EP, which will drop later this year, but you can pick up "Away From Me" on Itunes, which is out on the newly established label No3.

Dreamin

Willy Beaman who just gave us his awesome track "Fire In Your Eyes" a few weeks ago is back with a new single called "Dreamin". This has a very distinct deep house flavour to it, with a bassline that's very catchy. I suspect it's the same vocalist from "Fire In Your Eyes", but with pitched a tad deeper. Today's first track is called "Say My Name" by Amsterdam based producer Elior. As you might have guessed from the title, this track uses the vocal from the Destiny's Child hit.
