Save Me
After joining forces with Deadmau5 for Kx5, dance music veteran Kaskade returns to his own shores with the release of the sixth instalment of his Redux album series: Redux 006. This time around we are receiving a total of 7 brand new tracks, incl. the single "Save Me", featuring the insanely talented Lauren L'aimant on vocals. As the artwork indicates the overall theme is towards the darker and more dramatic and melancholic side, something that has always been part of the redux vibe, but maybe not as consequently dominant as it is now. "Save Me" is a great example of this, but there are other tracks that stand out to me too, like "Its Gone" feat. Crayskool (a new project by Kyle Pyfer, brother of longtime Kaskade co-producer/writer Nate Pyfer), which feels a bit more uplifting, albeit being a dark track too. Redux 006 is all in all, a big coming together of long time friends and collaborators of Kaskade and that makes the entire album a very coherent and thought-through piece of work.
