my religion

Oakland’s own illexotic just blessed us with a pure sunshine cut for summer ’25, and it’s called “My Religion”, a silky smooth House groove that’s got one foot in the sand and the other stomping on the dancefloor.

If you’re new here: illexotic = Corinita (vocals/flute wizardry) + Josh (rap keys mastermind), a genre-fluid duo who’ve been bending EDM into their own love-positive, mental-health-conscious, bass-dropping playground since 2019. They started with politically charged, experimental soundscapes (Resilience, Chillexotic, illustrations), and have now locked into a House & Bass sweet spot inspired by everyone from Sofi Tukker to Skrillex. And just like their influences, they bring chaotic good energy to every set they touch.

“My Religion” is one of those tracks that just gets summer. Think Disco Lines meets LP Giobbi with just enough illexotic flair to make you turn the volume all the way up. Warm basslines wrap around your brain while the vocal hook dances in your head like the memory of a perfect pool party. It’s got the easy flow for a lazy afternoon at the beach, but give it the right crowd and you’re spilling drinks at 2am in the best way possible.

It’s also kind of a love letter, not just to each other (yep, they’re a couple), but to you, the summer romances, the day ones, and the strangers you’ll dance with before you even know their names. Out now as a self-release, start listening right here below:
