BGM
Infinite Coles serves up pure magic with his new single "BGM" (Black Girl Magic), out today on Don’t Sleep/PIAS. It’s a love letter to 90s house music, full of bright piano chords, hypnotic groove, and Coles’ soul-stirring vocals. Co-produced by Zach Witness (Erykah Badu, Frank Ocean), the track is equal parts uplifting and raw, driven by a mantra-like hook that feels tailor-made for late-night dancefloors: "Shine your light. Baby love your life. It’ll be all right this time." Raised in the Wu-Tang dynasty (son of Ghostface Killah, nephew of RZA), but carving his own fearless path, Infinite Coles continues to prove himself as one of New York’s most exciting modern voices
“BGM” is the second taste of Infinite’s forthcoming debut album, following the unapologetically titled “Boots Ballroom C*nt Mix.” Both tracks make it clear: Coles is pulling from the ballroom scene, from 90s house, from lived experience and turning it all into music that demands both dancing and listening.
