The Morning Comes
Alright, here’s one for the after-hours. LA’s own Sean Lafayette has been quietly (and now not so quietly) carving out his own lane in the house world, and his latest cut “The Morning Comes” proves exactly why his sound hits different.
Built on a fusion of bass house grit, techno tension, and UKG swing, this one’s a total club weapon. The track opens with a haunting female vocal hook that sets the tone - dark, hypnotic, and a little eerie, before the low-end kicks in and that UKG-style MC slides across the drop like it’s second nature.
Then comes the second drop, where Sean completely flips the energy, you think you know where it’s going, and suddenly it’s something else entirely. It’s that perfect “wait, what just happened?” moment that makes people lose it mid-set.
If this is what the morning sounds like, I don’t mind staying up a little longer. Out now on a streaming platform near you.
