Snuff The Pilot Light
Time for something alternative once again here on MYWLT: Samy Sharif’s “Snuff the Pilot Light” hits that sweet spot between quirky indie-electronica and groove-heavy alt-pop. There’s a flicker of Gorillaz energy in the track’s offbeat rhythms and cool, casual vocal delivery, but Sharif spins it into his own universe, looser, dustier, and full of unexpected little details.
The beat shuffles forward with a wiry bassline and percussive sparks that keep the whole thing in motion, while the melody drifts in like a mischievous grin. It’s textured, handmade, and effortlessly catchy without trying too hard.
A quick listen turns into a repeat session pretty fast. Definitely one for late-night playlists and anyone who likes a good alt-indie-rock track. The track has been out since last year, part of the album House of Fix. Even though it's older, it's a fresh new discovery for us, so here's hoping it's also a fresh one for you.
