Skin Deep
The Liverpool native Tom Ferry has been on a roll this year with several releases this year so far, scoring himself a Dancing Astronaut premiere on his last tune ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ featuring vocals from Dee Ajayi. This time Ferry is back, cutting through and pulling on our emotional heart strings with his latest release 'Skin Deep’ featuring the seductive vocal performance from Alex Hosking. The song begins with a washy mix of synth chords deeper than the ocean and reverberated vocal chops wider than the sky. Progressing into an escapade of house-inspired complex percussion elements and a banging kick drum, the song is a tour guide, leading the soul on a journey through a beautiful collision of harmony, melody and dance. ’Skin Deep’ as a song and Tom Ferry as a producer deserve a lot more attention then they are currently getting - we see a bright future for this artist as word of the musical talent and production prowess that Ferry possesses is just starting to ripple through the industry, an indicator that doors are being opened for this young producer as his career continues to blossom.
